The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency has announced that the NCE (New Campus East) facility on Ft. Belvoir near Springfield, VA will house 8,500 NGA personnel in a 2.4 million gross square foot building placed on a 150-acre plot.  The move will take place in phases between the fall of 2010 and the fall of 2011 under BRAC (Base Realignment and Closure).

The Fairfax County Parkway Extension through Fort Belvoir’s Engineering Proving Grounds project will be constructed in four phases.  The first phase is a four-lane extension between Rolling Road and Fullerton Road, which will allow commuters improved access to I-95.  Future scheduled phases include building an interchange at Rolling Road and the EPG entrance; relocating Hooes Road and Rolling Road with improvements to the interchange at Fairfax County Parkway and the Franconia-Springfield Parkway; and, building a loop ramp at Boudinot Drive.  The Virginia Department Of Transportation (VDOT), Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), and the Army will each pursue additional funding to construct the remaining phases.
